Call to 39th NCSD Convention, 2017
May 5-6, 2017
Greetings Fellow Senior Democrats:
The 2017 NC Senior Democrats Convention, the 39th Annual Convention,, is scheduled Saturday, May 6 in Salisbury. Some members will arrive on Friday, May 5 because of distance and/or events. Free non-convention events are scheduled for Friday.
Non-convention events will be held on Friday PM at the Holiday Inn Express, 125 Marriott Circle in Salisbury. These include a class for those who want to become more computer literate and another class on Generational Politics, by Dr. Michael Bitzner of Catawba College, a well-known political commentator. These will run concurrently beginning at 2:00 PM. If you plan to arrive on Friday, please indicate which free class you’d like to attend on the registration form.
Dinner is on your own in Uptown Salisbury where there are numerous restaurants and a festive atmosphere. The trolley will transport us from the hotel to the uptown area and back again before 8:00 p.m. We have a speaker at the hotel at 8:00 PM. See enclosed map or on NCSD website.
The convention will be held at the School of Culinary Arts located at 530 Jake Alexander Boulevard South (click here for map), 2.6 miles from the hotel and one exit toward Charlotte on I-85. Breakfast is at 7:30 AM for a nominal fee. Make a reservation for this meal. Please make reservations on the NCSD website http:///www.ncseniordemocrat.com or mail registration in early. You will need to check out of the hotel early and drive to the culinary school. You must make separate reservations for the hotel.
We expect the convention to end around 3:30 PM on Saturday. Please make plans to remain until the end. I look forward to seeing you at the convention in Salisbury!
